Fresnel lens application in LED floodlights:

First, the application of sensor lens

In general, the Fresnel lens is formed by cutting a spherical surface shape in order to minimize image optical aberrations at the time of imaging. The lens can better calibrate the ideal point light source into a parallel light source.

In real life, no light source is a true point light source, however, solid state light emitters such as LEDs are very small, so as long as the distance between the lens and LED is appropriate, it can be used as a point light source. Therefore, the Fresnel lens can calibrate the LED output light into parallel light.

The traditional incandescent light source generates a large amount of radiant heat, which limits the application of plastic optical materials in close proximity to the light source. Since most of the heat generated by the LEDs is conductive, it is easier to apply plastic optical lenses.

When it is necessary to calibrate the beam source of the LED emitter to a wider range of angles, the most common method is to use a mirror and a Fresnel lens to reduce the use of optical components.

The Fresnel lens is used for LED light distribution, which can increase the light efficiency and increase the brightness. Compared with the same lens and LED lights, different focal lengths, and different distances, the light emitting angle can be set arbitrarily. Single or multiple array LED lights can be designed according to requirements. It has been widely used in LED floodlights, colorful floodlights, lights, landscape lights, signal lights, and a variety of lamps.
